2018 Season comes to an end…

Well the 2018 season draws to an end for us at Nicola Wilson Eventing. It has turned into a foundation building year for us with some lovely young horses finding their feet and really starting to feel established and exciting for the future and some older horses One Two Many retiring. He looks forward to a quieter life and some dressage and Show jumping with Janine his part owner and Annie Clover retires from eventing but will enjoy hunting with my mum.

Drumnaconnel Toto Wolff originally bought as a hunter has had a super year rounding it off with his first CIC** in the Brit Young Horse Championships at Osberton with a double clear

All We Need won the IN at Allerton Park and then went on to 10th in the CCI* at Osberton where a frustrating SJ single time fault dropped us from 5th to 10th!

Mattie Clover is a lovely big horse who has been given time to grow and strengthen this year. As the ground improved he came out to play, successfully competing at Novice level.

PRF Spartikiss a homebred 6 yr old in his first season of eventing won the Novice at Alnwickford and is really starting to feel established now

Levitate also a 6 yr old in her first season was 2nd at Richmond Novice and rounded off her great year with a double clear in the CIC* YH British Championships at Osberton

Yacabo BK joined our yard late August and has been, as you would expect beautifully trained and I was so lucky to feel at one with him straight away. After a couple of getting to know each other runs we went to Boekelo CCI*** in Holland. He did a beautiful dressage to lie 5th after the first phase, we had an amazing time on the xc, he certainly didn’t feel the 8 yr old that he is until the last combination near to home where his brain started to get tired and a silly 20 penalties where picked up, which was a massive shame as it felt like an established round until then. He then came out on the Sunday and jumped a fabulous clear SJ. The whole week was for experience and partnership bonding which we did and very look forward to next season with him.

JL Dublin rounded off our season with 5Th in the 7 yr old World Championships at Le Lion in France. He felt amazing all week and he has had such a superb year with 3 wins, a DC in his first Advanced as a 7 yr old and then finishing 5th at Le Lion.

Bulana is fit and well and looking forward to leading our 2019 campaign.
