We have had a lovely couple of weeks at Burnham Market and Ballindenisk.
‘All We Need’ won the OI at Burnham, aka ‘Monti’ is starting to feel really established now at this level and has been very consistent this year.
‘Chiraz’ or Truffle as he is known at home won his Novice section. He is more focused this season, last year as a 5yr old he was able to tell you more about the fence judges picnics than the fence he was about to jump! Truffle is hopefully starting to come of age but time will tell. It is great to see the younger horses progress and find their feet …
‘Erano M’ and ‘JL Dublin’ both had steady double clears in the 3*S and ‘Bulana’ went well in the two phases that she did in the 4*
We then travelled to a very sunny Ireland and Ballindenisk with ‘ Chabadu’ competing in his first 3 day event. He led from the dressage to finish with a super double clear to win the 2*L. This result ticks the box as part of his 7yr old World Breeding Championship qualification for later in the year (if he is selected) to go to Le Lion, France. Fingers crossed he continues to progress nicely over the summer .
‘Bulana’ – Berry had a quiet run in the 3*S and also led the dressage convincingly to win her class. We were keen for her to have another run closer to her first Badminton as she can be a hot mare and we hope that this may help her mentally be as prepared as possible. Only time will tell ..
‘Yacabo BK’ was so very unlucky in the 4*L having stormed round the cross country so beautifully to then stumble badly over the Irish mound, he did so well to find his feet but a technical 20 penalties left him down the placings. He jumped a super clear show jumping on the final day and we were thrilled with his performance, he was just so very unlucky.
Thank you once again to the organisers and volunteers at both events and to my owners, sponsors and fabulous team
