Nicola was absolutely delighted with how One Two Many and Beltane Queen performed at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.
One Two Many, owned by Mr Gerry Kemp, Mrs Mary Kemp and Mrs Janine Shewan was second in the dressage arena on the first day and afterwards, Nicola was interviewed on Radio Badminton saying, “ He did a super test, very focused and rideable, the only blip was the 3rd flying change, otherwise it was full of expression and his transitions were super” the judges awarding a score of 47.00, which after two days of dressage left them in 21st position.
Beltane Queen, owned by Mrs Val Robson and Mrs Ann Robson performed some very nice work, although with a few small mistakes scored 50.9. This lovely coloured mare has quite a following and fan base.
One Two Many, his first trip to the MMBHT was absolutely fantastic over the cross-country course, which Nicola described as a lovely course, very big and bold with lots to jump. “He was awesome from start to finish and I couldn’t be more delighted with him and I am looking forward to riding Beltane Queen this afternoon, who is a different horse to One Two Many and I will ride her accordingly”.
Beltane Queen gave Nicola another fantastic ride around Badminton to finish with 1.2 time penalties, just outside the optimum time – both horses were placed inside the top 20 going into show jumping the following day.
Having passed the final trot up, both horses looking magnificent, it was Beltane Queen who jumped first, incurring two unlucky rails for 8 faults. One Two Many jumped a fantastic clear round to finish in 7th place – Nicola being the 2nd best placed British rider.
A great result for Team Wilson, with Nicola saying, “I would like to thank Lynn Swift, my fabulous head girl, who worked so hard looking after both horses beautifully, the owners of One Two Many and Beltane Queen, my sponsors and for the added support from the Equestrian World Class Programme”.Back
